  1. Dewalt all the way!. I think I have almost all their battery tools even some XR 56v stuff - AWESOME!
  2. Yeah ; that’s about the most appropriate one I could find also .
  3. Welcome ! as you can tell from my avatar - I’m all man ?
  4. Any recommendations for a t & g cement board ??
  5. I meant cement board so this on top insulation - do grp , edpm, ashfelt etc . Bond to cement board ?
  6. Well ! Got a price !! ? 3.8k for 40mm + vat 3.4k for 35mm + vat ( u difference is about 0.01 ) so I think 35mm will do ! area is approx 6m x 6m my next lesser issue issue is what concrete board to put over them . Must be tougue and grove as can’t fix through the vac packs . Also be able to take whatever waterproofing method architect fancies ...
  7. More damaged you mean ?
  8. My avatar will out live you all and become the thing of legends !
  9. No other solutions come to fruition! damn the price ?
  10. Spoke to vac panel ! 40mm gives a u of 0.18 :-)))) Thry are happy with concrete board on top , waterproofing and then concrete pour . price will be around £110 a sq metre ?
  11. Regular reinforced- can’t remember exact depth ( will check ) but can guess 100mm
  12. I need to achieve 0.19 u
  13. Oh but a solution!!!! architect is now on about ashfelt as the waterproofing ......
  14. Lol the parking area would probably just about take the size of an average car ! i think total depth for this insulation is around 20mm ( which is amazing ! ) . Will contact a firm tomorrow too see ! undoubtedly £££££££ will be distressing !
  15. Trust me no matter what solution I use we are never parking a car on it ? http://coolconversion.com/pressure/150-kPa-to-kgf/m2 hmmmmmmmmmm !! 15,000kg per square meter ??? That right.
  16. https://www.kingspan.com/gb/en-gb/products/insulation/insulation-boards/optim-r-e-roofing-system hey @JSHarris ! Vac in pir ? kpa 150 ! I’m really hoping my architect looks into this ...
  17. Yes ! They sound great and expensive! i am still waiting on Kingspan to call me back - must be a way to cover them safely with screed / concrete ...
  18. Yep ascetics only. SWMBO not a fan of 'stamps' (so that's a dead solution). Could use patio pavers ; 30mm or so?; grabs back another 20mm. U value the issue really; looking into Kingspan vacuum insulation; U value incredible!
  19. Quite possibly a steel inner frame ( yes parking is just the middle section ) who knows what’s right ? just following se and architect as best as possible . cheers
  20. Yeah ; it’s all possible . This would need to be designed though . Se did say that the rebar needs 35mm cover to stop corrosion - so galvanised steel could be used to reduce cover . Looking at the Kingspan product does seem to take a loading of 160kpa . They must have an se themselves that would ‘design’ something that’s meets my criteria - at a cost of course !!! cheers
  21. Maybe ! or ..... https://www.kingspan.com/gb/en-gb/products/insulation/insulation-boards/optim-r/optim-r-flooring-system kingspan super low u - looks like can have screed ontop also . Waiting a call back from Kingspan - price will be £££££
  22. Haven’t got enough depth for 120mm just spoke to se the 75mm extra pour isn’t structural in the true sense - it’s simply to stop the insulation crushing!! hmmmmm , now what are those super expensive high compression good u value blocks called ? ( about a tenner each ! ) .... foamglass .....
  23. So ! assuming my architect will allow me to drop compressive strength from 300kpa - need to find the thinnest and best u value pir available . Kingspan I guess .....
  24. Right ! spoke to everyone about aerogel you can pour concrete on top - won’t compress much. But it’s u value isn’t as great as perceived ! . Roughly same u as twice the thickness of pir . I’ve read up to 6 times better - but not true ....
  25. Architect says no way to chip board / osb I did think this seemed bad in a concrete sandwich !! unhappy with insulation on ceiling !!! its effectively a warm room structure - so must keep to that !
