Not sure what you mean here ? You do not want those loose floats ; on a cable that bounce around !! Tried many pumps - float sticking / jamming was a common issue . Zoellar. Is your friend !

Many solutions to this ; but what I do … homeseer HA - largely agnostic to type of devices e.g z wave , x 10 🤣 , zingbee etc I have a z wave socket on that pump . I can measure its wattage use . So my ‘last hope’ pump should never be on . If that plug wattage goes above zero pump must be on - I then send an email or whatever .

Nah it's not a bodge - it's an after thought. Look at my photo. I always intended to box the pipes in. Bit of timber, tile backerboard and a few tiles - its disappeared ( or will when I finish it ). Personally I can't see the 32mm pipe being an issue. Restricts flow for sure - but so what?. It's in your ground depression ( cast concrete ); fills up then empties. It's not going to attract so much water that your pump outlet of 32mm can't cope.

I have 32mm mdpe for my 2 rain water pumps - no issues . My sump ( macerator waste and kitchen ) does indeed have 2” pipe outlets . Regarding your current embedded 32mm pipe . Can you not put a new pipe externally in your sunken garden ( box it in afterwards ) and then access the drain ( access chamber nearby ?? ) . Like I did …

Perhaps when it’s dark stick a torch outside so you can see the light coming under the dpc . Foam along until no light visible . You’ve then done the best as possible .

Unless you can see right under there it will be tricky to fill with ct1 . Expanding foam is best . As said ; won’t stop water entering ( in a flood situation ) but will stall / slow it down . 👍

Crumbs you were unlucky . Yes a decent channel and also a decent water ‘storage ‘ facility ! . Still think expanding foam is best under there to seal it properly. That doesn’t mean of course water couldn’t get under the dpc if it flooded again though . Get those 2/3 pumps in and some method of high water / pump failure alarm in pronto !

Been pissing down here now for about 5 days! But yes ; this is what I have. My concrete courtyard slab with a channel ( shuttered before concrete pour ) in front my sliding doors. That 'channel' continues the full with of the doors and then turns 90 degrees straight into my sump 'chamber' ( another concrete cast ) which is of course lower ; that is where my 2 rainwater pumps sit. My courtyard is also ( deliberately I may add ) quite a bit lower than my door threshold. I have plastic stilts and aluminium joists with decking on top . What this does mean ; if both pumps fail for whatever reason I can 'store' a lot of water before it even gets near the doorway. I'd do a photo also ; but like you - I'll get drenched 😎

If it’s an awkward ‘gap’ then I would say expanding foam . Is there not a drain / channel outside infront the doors ? - that is what you really need that feeds into your sump . add: photo of your doors / courtyard from outside might help

This is the thing . How far do you want to go ? . I have 4 pumps ( each pair on seperate outlets , battery backup , audible alarm , HA alarm on failure ) . What is the probability of 4 pumps failing and zero electricity- it’s pretty (expletive deleted)ing slim . But you’ve been flooded so your attitude to this risk ( as it has happened ) will be less .

Tricky ; especially on this forum . Most here are mentally average at best but obese in size .

I know you potentially were planning to have a basement WC … If that happens and possibly showers , another WC ( no idea of your layout / plans ) then a sump for all of this might be better than a macerator “ per thing “ as it were to pump up into the internal drain pipework . If had to add the sump all for the sake of a basement WC - pita ….

Excuse me ! ” To add My rainwater Zoellar pumps are at 2 different heights in a pit I.e lower than my basement floor . “ nuff said bro 😎
