  1. The 50Mb connection I think is only available within 5 mile of broadcast point. If you email them with your coordinates they will give you an idea of connection speed. I know a couple of people on it and they say it is fairly good and unlimited download.
  2. Have a look at bluebox.network broadband via wimax
  3. Which would you recommend for an oil boiler some UFH and not planning on pv possibly solar water heating.
  4. Plumbing I am clueless on what's the difference between TS and UVC? That's a nice neat install.
  5. Roof type undecided but likely cold, height wise I haven't looked in great detail but should be 2m at the max point. In terms of demand again hadn't looked at that not even sure how to work it out. There are 4 of us me being the only male! Kids are both under 4 currently so who knows.
  6. Nick, any new thoughts on the original post?
  7. Thanks for the opinions so far.
  8. Store 2 will probably be used for UFH manifold. Hot water tank could go in store 1/2, plant room or in the loft above the bedroom block out of the way and leave more space in the store room. The boiler I am unsure where it will go, it will likely be oil (no gas in this part of NI) and I am hesitant to contain it within the house/living areas but not sure if there are significant downfalls with having it in the boiler/plantroom.
  9. Are there any guidelines on where boilers should be situated in terms of longest run to radiator or UFH manifold. Likewise the same for a DHW tank and its proximity to bathrooms/en-suites etc as well as to its heating source. My bungalow is a non-traditional design and can only be described as a Z stretched left to right with one block being living and the other being sleeping. This is probably aimed at Nick but welcome to others to contribute as always. Floor attached hopefully helps
  10. I intend to get the road in and fencing done ready to get hedging in the autumn. Will probably get water supply sorted also and duct for electric cable pulls to gates at the same time. I probably can't get elec until wall box in place, I know roughly where it is coming from. Never thought about pegging/painting outline.
  11. So my plans are going in tomorrow or early next week. What should I get on with in the mean time other than speaking to trades?
  12. Welcome fellow NI self builder.
  13. Never heard of jetfloor must go and google. No other takers to throw their oar in?
  14. Traditional block build and will have some cut and fill to do for footings, not 100% sure of depths yet. Architect has suggested possibly beam and block sub floor structure. Any recommendations for or against compared to poured concrete (if fill depths are within the limits) or slabs?
  15. Unfortunately most towns roundabout dromara have been done.
  16. So glad to see so many familiar names on here already, knowing the advice they can give. I am embarking on a self build in Co. Down and have thankfully now taken ownership of our site. Plans should be finalised this week for change of house type application to be submitted. FPP in place already on site so going to start laneway and fencing visibility splays soon. Any free decent rubble welcome lol.
