  1. that was quick! how long has that been since you submitted the forms?
  2. Yes. Works fine. But it is a basement so the temperature doesn’t really fluctuate and we rarely have the heating on down there.
  3. thanks for the tip @nod. i did another search through the BG website and found this image for a secondary dropped ceiling. so it seems that the FEA1 steel angle is screwed through the plasterboard into the MF5 channels above allowing you to to repeat the ceiling below. so this will double the cost of the MF materials but give me an unbroken ceiling to reduce noise transfer above. i think this is what i'll do as it also means i can fit, insulate and board the primary ceiling without worrying about running cables before hand.
  4. I didn’t put the ufh pipes in the slab in the end. They’re in a 60mm Cemfloor screed on 25mm PIR on top of the slab.
  5. I wonder if you even own those panels. anyway, I don't really care as I'm not interested in anything like that. I get 15p/kWh exported with Octopus which is more than I pay for my imported cheap electricity on Cosy.
  6. how much do they offer for solar export per kWh?
  7. Thank you. Will go through the white book again and have a look.
  8. Ahh…..thank you! Now I know what @Russell griffiths was talking about. That makes sense and is very interesting. I could make the boxes 50mm deep and lay a 50mm layer of Rockwool around them in the void and then cover everything with another 100mm Rockwool. definitely food for thought.
  9. if the hangers are that long how do you board around them? surely they'll be in the way of the plasterboard?
  10. not sure what you mean, or rather can't visualise it. nothing is currently built so i was thinking of like a service channel but a bit deeper to fit a spot light. i'll see if i can draw what i mean.
  11. greetings. i am fitting a dropped ceiling using metal frame in my basement music room as i need relatively good soundproofing to the floor above. but i'd like to use recessed spots if possible. in order to maintain the soundproofing i'm wondering if it's possible to create a dropped ceiling, plasterboard it and then drop it some more to run cables and spots in? if so, how would that be accomplished? do you simply screw the https://www.british-gypsum.com/products/metal-products/gypframe-gl9-bracket through the plasterboard back in to the metal frame and then repeat what was done before for the other dropped ceiling? does that even make sense? it kind of seems an expensive way to get recessed spots though but it will also assist in sound proofing as it's kind of 2 ceilings, right?
  12. good job that cost all got absorbed into the big payment for the Loxone equipment quite early on in the build when i actually still had some money!
  13. it's been a while since i did mine but i believe that i just submitted the G100 certification for my Solaredge inverter for the application. then after the application was approved and i had to submit the commissioning docs i needed to specify the limiting shown in my single line diagram above.
  14. "that's how we've always done it" 🤦‍♂️
  15. actually, i'm getting confused (easily done!) it was a Slingbox i've got. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slingbox
  16. i think i've still got one in a box somewhere. might dig it out. maybe by now it'll be worth enough to pay off my mortgage! 🤣
  17. I can’t guarantee that as all my speakers are really old gen1.
  18. and yes i know i'm just moving to another locked in system with Loxone before you say anything but my decision has been made and i'm sticking with it. 🙄
  19. i'm one of those customers. Sonos quickly reverted the decision though and the old speakers can still be used with the newer ones afaik. we've only got old speakers though and probably won't ever upgrade them as i have the Loxone audio server waiting to be installed.
  20. Try installing the software required to run a cloud key on a VM/Pi. If you get that working then you should still be able to use the G4 as a standalone product.
  21. Are you sure? Which UniFi Applications run natively on UniFi Express? UniFi Express runs UniFi Network. For expanded application support, add an additional UniFi Console. For example, a CloudKey or Network Video Recorder can be added to a UniFi Express network to run UniFi Protect for camera security.
  22. do you already have Unifi equipment in the house running your network? if not, then i would think maybe their doorbell is overkill? but it's probably subscription free and if you can configure a key server to run on a raspberry pi to give you the remote access to the doorbell then it might be a good subscription free solution. i wouldn't get a Ring as i believe it's subscription based and i don't want to add yet another subscription to a long list of online services i already pay for! for me i have a Loxone doorbell/keypad so it should integrate nicely in to my Loxone system. just need a gate to fit it to now. 🤦‍♂️
  23. so you can do the same thing as a cloudkey+ on a Pi or other computer running 24/7. and I know you have those running. https://community.ui.com/questions/Do-I-need-UniFi-Cloudkey-Gen2-Plus-for-home-network/a973f5ca-85ee-4b20-9f90-3092341377d9 so looks like (from my brief Google!) you can configure your own cloud key server without needing their dedicated hardware. I have mine built in to my UDM Pro. still deciding whether to go with Unifi for my CCTV or another manufacturer.
  24. have you tried downloading the Unifi Protect App and connecting to your doorbell? I thought the CloudKey was for remote site management?
