  1. Your best chance will be a local sawmill, if they can't they will know probably know someone that will. It is a quite unusual profile so getting a exact match will be the issue but should be close.
  2. I like @Onoff idea they are pricing just under £50 a m3 plus hose extensions( that's what came back on Google). They can bring the tube through the house with hopefully little damage? It would be worth a call for a guide price as no labourers or digger required. You will still need a grab lorry to get rid of the soil.
  3. @Tetrarch that's what I tried to find but did not do a good job. 🤣 I got worried that the back was held on by a little grub screw until they showed the assembly with the thread. A coach screw with that would be fairly easy.
  4. I would not fancy holding up the glass while winding in the coach screw. The others are already in the gulams and just need to fit the glass, clamp and nut with less chance of slipping. Unless the clamp bit is bolted to the gulams before the glass is fitted but I am not sure on that bit?
  5. I just messaged a mate who had the glass balustrades to Gulam like you want. He used these https://www.tcfixings.co.uk/category/wood-to-metal-dowels/945 but could not remember the size. You would then need the glass clamps.
  6. I think it is these https://www.fhbrundle.co.uk/products/1806455M__Glass_Connector_-_O/D_50mm_x_20mm_With_M10_Threads_-_Grade_316_Mirror you want. I would try Cornwall glass for making the glass panels as I think are quite local to you. You can template the hole positions before you get them made.
  7. Why did you start this when it stopped raining and not last year when it rained all the time?
  8. Why did you spend that much 372k for 420sqm shocking😂. Bummer about VAT return it takes ages before having to go back and add a column. Good luck for your next one, just don't tell us how little you spent.
  9. You will have to knock the house down and start again, it might be quicker. Maybe not only another 8 years to go🤣.
  10. Could you swap the ones in the corner for the ones further out ( if they are the same size). They would then weather and walking would possibly clean them up if you can't replace them.
  11. I should check before I comment, just been down to our partial underground garage which was a paddling pool after last night.
  12. Good job you did not have our rain last night, your basement would of been a paddling pool. About 80mm in 6 hours, it was dry about 3 miles away on our way home and then driving through floods at home. Hopefully this will be over soon, I can't cope with another 8 years of this😁
  13. East Devon Council is useless and lots of nimby's about with money who band together. My in-laws live there and the road they are on all the old bungalows have been flattened and new modern houses built, some are quite nice others ugly no real theme and all different. Have you tried a planning consultant to try to find a way around this so you could sell the old place?
  14. At least it looks like you have found the culprits. Hopefully the ct1 will fix it the other one.
  15. I tried on a house last year that had 2 bathrooms micro cemented, it did look good and minimalist. Find somebody who will do it and then get them to spec how and what they want to micro cement onto. I can't comment about long term as this is the only time I have seen it.
  16. Looks really good and well done with the cost, very impressed. I like that it is a bit unusual with the double gable. Hopefully the grandchildren won't damage it to much😁, I know mine would if given 1/2 a chance. What flooring have you used downstairs?
  17. If you still had it, you could cover the joint and always see the problem😁.
  18. Are you taking that piece of decking up as well to check what is below?
  19. Thank goodness you have found a likely place. This could of gone on for years😁
  20. That's a shame, I think you need to just spray your water over areas further away than where you think it is. Use your 10min over 3 or 4 foot area. That's what you get for living in a cave🤣.
  21. This is who I meant above https://www.brewers.co.uk/search?q=Linseed+oil this company is likely to be fairly local as there are a few around Manchester. As @Crofter mention linseed oil or Danish might be a good choice. You could search on YouTube for different videos of people using the different oils and finishes and see what suits you for cost and looks.
  22. Looks good, roughly what part of Devon as there are several of us around as well as north Cornwall. I am from mid Devon near Crediton.
  23. The Osmo is a tinted hard wax oil, £1.55 is the tester pot, you would probably need at least 750ml. I used this for our Oak staircase but it is only a clear hardwax oil https://www.screwfix.com/p/liberon-2-5ltr-clear-matt-water-based-interior-wood-wax-oil/5182F?tc=FG5&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=19822796129&gbraid=0AAAAAD8IdPyfxoaSUDUU9N6sIoqNBYRgI&gclid=CjwKCAjwravBBhBjEiwAIr30VLFGRXRiOfoQw-4XwR_sOfw9x3ltS-3vlHjbnfhyBgNqLgju60l56xoC-rIQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds I think going to Brewers or a another paint center (hopefully you will get somebody helpful) and asking them for options, take a offcut so they can see what you are trying to do, you will need to think about what colour and finish you want.
  24. The first link you will never get that finish it looks like spray painted mdf. Probably a satinwood. The second link is a coloured wood stain which would be similar to what you would get with something like this https://www.wood-finishes-direct.com/product/osmo-colour-foundation?gclid=Cj0KCQjwiqbBBhCAARIsAJSfZkbIb7zWiLooLaZjZ_JnCi6u-gxmIjnSnDusdA9Z9WloE7rlW7wCT9UaAnciEALw_wcB&gtin=4006850745999 It is expensive but good and has different shades to colour the wood. There are other stains that would give a similar effect.
  25. The silicone render on our house looks really good except when the up/down outside lights are on at night and it shows a little, but I think it is better than a sand cement would be. I am very pleased with it.
