  1. Same error today with the lights as soon as the solar kicked in.
  2. It doesn't do anything when I pressed it earlier but I confess I've never used that button since the thing was fitted as we don't use the immersion.
  3. My parents used the term almost daily when I was younger to describe our inability to turn off house lights "house lit up like Blackpool illuminations/lights" and I use it to describe anything that has lots of lights on it, and use the same term if I see lights on in the house unnecessarily - I realize I'm turning into my parents!
  4. Thanks I think it most certainly is a fault as none of the troubleshooting on Earthwise website or options to rectify it are working and the light errors aren't anything consistent either. The invertor is working as I checked this throughout the day and we were getting solar but obviously any excess isn't being diverted at the moment to the tank (granted there won't be much anyway as we would normally use most we generate at the moment and the forecast for the next few days is miserable). I've messaged Segen who the unit was purchased from and Earthwise too, as I'm unsure who will honour the warranty. Earthwise aren't back in the office til Monday so nothing can be done at the moment.
  5. It's in it's normal state as pic below. When it was sunny it had the mixture of all lights as per the video. When I tried to recalibrate it (when we had solar), and turned everything off at fuse, it was fine until I turned the solar inverter fuse on.
  6. Yes, it seems we have amber lights although it could be a mixture of red and green! Strangely now no solar it is back to 'normal' with the mains light green and sensor red and immersion off. Whatever is wrong, it's only happening when the solar is on!
  7. Perhaps but it's a nice sunny day here so no reason not to have enough to heat hot water. I'll keep an eye on it.
  8. It's 10 year and we got from one of Earthwise distributors Segen. I've messaged Segen to see if it is them or Earthwise themselves I need to contact but so far no response.
  9. It's worked fine for 12 months but today has lots of lights. I've followed the instructions in the manual as below. Ensure the water in the immersion tank requires heating. Ensure house is drawing at least 200W power. Ensure that the immersion electrical circuit is on Turn off the solar inverter and turn on immersion circuit breaker Allow 20 seconds for calibration: - The Mains light should be green and Sensor light should be red. Everything is fine until the point where it says. Turn the solar invertor on and wait three minutes. This is when I the get the flashing lights when I turn the invertor on! The cycle on the video keeps repeating. Any ideas? I've messaged Earthwise but they are off until next week! VID_20230112_124838.mp4
  10. Not sure it's helpful but as @Onoffquoted me. Yes our Internorm fingerprint sensor and connections caused all sorts of issues. As it was installed then the damn fingerprint sensor wouldn't work so Internorm had to come out and sort it. We ended up with this and I know the installation isn't great as it's only plasterboard). Ignore the various paint splodges from tester pots, we haven't decorated yet waiting for the painter to come (he is 9 months behind schedule)!
  11. Interesting! We have never exported before - do you have to sign up for it or do anything for extra? At the moment any excess is diverted to the hot water but I know at times we would have had a excess but we have never exported before so unsure what we do. We are hoping to sign up with cosy.
  12. We have been looking at Cosy as our Go Faster 5 hour 830pm slot expires in March (the heating is coming off when our Go Faster expires I don't care what the temperate is outside)! 🥶 If we move to Go we are limited on the 0030-0430 times at 12p (providing rates do not go up) and their day rate is more expensive than Cosy although I'm not clear if their day rate is reduced because of the government cap. Whilst this is good for running appliances, charging etc I am not sure if I'd want to use the dishwasher and washing machine then as there is always the risk of flooding. Also running the ASHP for heating during these times isn't particular helpful as we will be asleep, rather I'd prefer it to be warmer when we are up and it's likely we will need the heating on at non Go times even more than we do now (we boost temperatures during the Go Faster times). It's demand on the heat pump for our heating, hot water and other appliances in a 4 hour slot and as others have said trying to do the heating and hot water with th ASHP at the same time doesn't work well. The current go Faster slot has also been useful as we could run appliances when we were still awake, charge up things etc and as we were still very much awake at 830pm. With the normal Go times we would have to set timers for things like laptops etc to charge during the cheap rates. As someone has said, it's the winter and likely 6 months of the year that it's the heat pump demand that's the issue as our heat pump is off 6 months of the year because our solar does our hot water and normally all our appliances and charging. With limited solar at the moment we are running large appliances during Go Faster. As we both work from home (730-4) the Cosy would work well for us, laptops running etc and with solar the peak time would only likely be an issue ok in winter when there is no solar 4-7pm. We may be looking to invest in batteries next year and if we do perhaps you could use use battery in the peak time? Our heat pump is set to a minimum of 18 degrees and boosts to 20.5 degrees during Go Faster and again comes on in the morning. In the cold snap it was kicking in mid afternoon again. Ps I did have the temperatures higher until someone bought me an Oodie. It changed my life 😂
  13. I turned the hot water off one I knew it had heated to 48 degrees and then turned the heating on in one room - gradually hoping to make sure things work. That's when the fan outside stopped working. The stats are calling for heat now but so far the outside fan hasn't come on, I'll see what happens and if the kitchen warms up. All very odd this is. Edit - working. Just checked and fan has kicked in. Hooray.
  14. The hot water is fine, it's heated the tank and the actual fan outside worked. I'm not completely convinced the heating is working. The stats are calling for heat but the actual heat pump fan isn't working outside 🤔 I'm waiting with baited breath to see if the floor gets warm and the temperature rises in the rooms but surely if the heating was working the fan should be working on the unit outside.
  15. Solved it!!!! That red handle - turned it for 20 seconds or so then put it back and it worked. Everything back working again. No idea what's it's purpose is or what it did but it worked.
  16. Ok so is it this that needs more water - some googling tells me that the black needle should be higher than the red one? The black tap to the right doesn't do anything though. Edit - done it and increased it to a about 1 bar but it's not that!
  17. Righty we have followed the video and checked and cleaned the filter. No issues there. Turned everything back on and still nothing so it's obviously something more serious.
  18. It's Alto rather than Freedom but I think it's the same I've got the videos so I feel OK checking the filter and I vaguely recall the engineer coming out last time doing this but I don't know if we need to do anything to make sure we don't get lots of water coming out when we undo the filter - that's the bit I'm worried about! If I unscrew something and we end up with a house full of water!
  19. Is that the handle next to the filter?
  20. Oh hang on I think the Solic has an immersion boost on it. Good thinking I'll do.
  21. I'm sure it's this Trouble is we don't want to do this incase we end up with water spewing everywhere as I'm sure you must need to isolate something first.
  22. I believe it was 12 months warranty and they came out a year ago when it was under warranty and we had the exact same issue! I have just found the email and it was the same error then and they replaced the flow switch and cable. They aren't open at the weekend. It's just over a year to the date I emailed with the same issue with the notes I mentioned above. Seems either way we are stuck this weekend with no heating or hot water.
  23. Only a year ago did Alto come out and do a warranty repair and noted the following on the job notes; Flow switch and the cable replaced. Filter was clogged so cleaned it. Presume was down to 0. Filling loop was not working so had it replaced to top up pressure. Flow rates at 26 l/m. One of the filling set valve was half open.
  24. Just spoke to someone who can't come out but he suggested the filter. I recall them showing us this so we are just going to try and check this. Does this bit look like the filter? And next question, if we need to take I presume we need to turn something off before removing the filter. Any suggestion? Or this pic below where you can see what I think is the filter and the black handle.
  25. So the actual HP unit outside isn't working even when we put the stats up, rooms show calling for heat but pump unit isn't working outside. So no heating or hot water - bloody hell. Just what we need.
