  1. www.drainageshop.co.uk I've bought loads of underground drainage and ic's off this company. No complaints, a lot of the kit is uk made, prices a fraction of merchants and screwfix or toolstation
  2. Thanks for the replies. Got a spare rest bend so will put that on it with a 45deg Y piece in front of it for access.
  3. There's a manhole under the osb in first pic. New pipe cuts into clay pipe running through manhole. No probs with that. Been doing this 20 years, never seen a long radius swept tee. Apparently my drains are a bit long as well! Think he was on a mission
  4. Close up of the offending tee
  5. Hi all, Had building inspector out today and he wants this tee swapping for a long radius version. Essentially it's at the top of a small backdrop. The rest bend at bottom is just below the water. Does anyone see anything wrong with this? He says 'things' will get stuck at the sharp radius of this tee 😮
  6. I've had this same problem twice in last 12 months. Drawings I submitted as pdf's were rejected for not being to scale (they had scale bars and dimensions). The easy solution was to take the A4 prints into the council, where they scanned them into their system and they magically become acceptable.
  7. I suggest you get the builder to put hip support trays under the ridge tiles, doesn't look like any are fitted.
  8. Hi, that's a good price, I've just been quoted £33 + vat for 100mm celotex from TP Scarborough. Do you mind saying where you are and your merchant?
  9. So I built my house without a warranty thinking on the basis if we wanted to sell we could buy a retrospective warranty. I spoke to this company at the NEC this year and they said they could issue a warranty for my self build which lasts for 10 years from completion date. They claim the warranty is accepted by a long list of mortgage providers and the list of providers is on their FAQ page. https://www.architectscertificate.co.uk/faq/
  10. My house is drawing 21w with everything off apart from heat pump system which includes the outside unit, FTC5 and 3 Heatmiser stats. My heatpump is an Ecodan PUHZ-W50VHA2 2019 manufacture.
  11. I had a quote for a retrospective warranty yesterday. The company was ABC+ Warranty, their website is architects certificate.co.uk. Saw them at Home building and Renovating Show last week.
  12. Hi. Here's my Warmcore doors fitted this weekend at my self build. They are well made and look and feel a quality item. I'd seen the bad reviews for Warmcore but decided to go with them for various reasons. I think you need to find a supplier with a proven record on this system but that's the same with all aspects of a self build. Good luck.
  13. Hi all. Just started my new build and giving some thought to the ufh. Its a bungalow with bedroom and ensuite in roof. Intending ufh in all groudfloor rooms. Planning on using a buffer tank with combi. I've attached my ground floor plan. Just wondering how do people on here control the heating in each room? Do you go thermostat every room and turn zones on and off for each room? I don't really want a thermostat in the bathroom. So bathroom always on? Or link bathroom to one of the other rooms? Any ideas? Thanks
  14. Thanks for the comments. Cables are overhead power and do cross my land at far end. Guess you all know you claim compensation for this. They dont rush though, my claim has been logged 14 months and counting. Heres a better photo. Cheers
  15. Hi everyone. Should be starting our new build next week. Its in our garden in Cheshire. Bungalow with room in roof. Quite experienced at building but going with 1 or 2 new ideas (new to me) I've seen on here in last couple of weeks, ufh, good insulation, air tight and mvhr. Heres the plot, picture doesn't do it justice.
