  1. If you took the time to read the article i posted you will see that sawdust is the primary byproduct that is used, so you can keep you wood Coal is not the only fossil fuel How much natural gas How much Shale gas If burning wood is so bad why do Drax use BioFuel for generation in one of the largest BioFuel power stations in the world in Yorkshire You better go and picket their gates https://www.drax.com/sustainability/biomass-demand-control/
  2. Ban completely ? i completely disagree and we don't use a log burner because they are cheap, visually ours enhances our home. We actually burn these https://www.theguardian.com/money/2015/oct/10/briquettes-clean-fuel-fireplace-wood-burning-stove <10 moisture, burn hot and are made of waste products But hey, lets burn fossil fuels instead ?
  3. My understanding is you can only claim back plants/trees etc if they are detailed on approved planning
  4. Thank you all, Onoff, that website is very impressive and the videos are very good indeed
  5. Hi All We are planning oak double drive gates, the span will be 2.7M, does anyone have recommendations for gate opening kits, we have been looking here but would welcome other recommendations http://www.gatemotors.co.uk/page-492-1-17 Thank you in advance
  6. I love Meraki, in my job, globally i have deployed them, i will be installing in my build, cloud based https://meraki.cisco.com/products/wireless/
  7. We are having the same issue with SP, we want a cable moving that will be under our slab, we negotiated down to 7.5k, its a 3phase 11kv coming from a pole in the corner of our plot, i have to say their legal department is inept, the frustrating thing is there is no Wayleave as it expired on selling to us and SP will no longer enter into new Wayleaves but go down the Easement route which is going to take 3 months, our solicitor has said they perfer the easement route as its permanent
  8. Hi Everyone We have just erected our timber frame garage, there are a few knots, we obviously don't want them to bleed resin after we have stained it. Is a knotting solution the best or are there alternatives like Aluminium primer ? Thanks in advance R&M
  9. Thank you everyone for your advice and comments, very much appreciated Ruth & Mark
  10. Hi all We are looking for advice regarding Eco products. We will be installing a Bio treatment unit as we have no mains sewerage on our plot. We do not want to put chemicals into the treatment plant as we do not want to kill bacteria. Does anyone know of anywhere that sells the following Washing Powder Dishwasher Tablets Bleach alternatives etc etc Thank you in advance Kind regards Ruth & Mark
  11. We are putting a treatment plant into our build, the important thing is percolation tests to be carried our on your land, this will determine the length of soakaway and more importantly if your ground is porous enough, this was a requirement for the environment agency
