  1. Had to take a trip into the Aladin's cave of shite again in search of black tape. Still not working with black tape. Reading a bit higher at 50 but it's still bollox as I pretty much burn my hand on the pipes so I'd say over 70. I can keep my hand on the PHE at 55.
  2. Permanent markers I have here have made no difference. Anything else I can put on the pipe?
  3. Thanks! I will go in search of the markers with the nice smell. I know the ones you mean - a bit addictive . 98 was way too hot for my hand! That pump is reading over 100 today and I just burnt myself on it again. You know how you have to touch something 'just to check'
  4. Ha ha - I should have read this first. Thank you! What's a black magic marker - sounds like some spell
  5. I'm not sure this thing works properly on pipes as my hand says its reading is shite (says it's only 30 something and no way is that right). The pipe going into the boiler (well there are 2 pipes from the boiler joining the PHE) are hotter than putting my hand on the PHE. Quite a bit hotter but not as hot as the green pump marked 'up'. Maybe slightly hotter than the silver upside down pump which shows 64. I can leave my hand on the PHE with a reading of 55 but no way can I leave my hand on those pipes. So at a guess I'd say 70 ish.
  6. Given the rest of this system who bloody knows!!
  7. I'm not taking it at all - I'm reading it off the temp gauge
  8. Just pointed the thermometer at the PHE. Reads 55 which is about the same temp as the TS which is 54, and a lot less than the boiler setting which is 75. Not sure if any of that is relevant
  9. To be honest a KFC without any food is probably an improvement so not sure why they're apologising! It truly is the most hideous stuff. Even outranks Mackie Ds in the grossness stakes by a considerable margin!
  10. Whereas I have access to Prime video and thus the Grand Tour and never use it so don’t look upon it as illegal, look upon it that you’re using my previously unclaimed benefit
  11. I’m not quite that bad as I can get to Edinburgh and back in the 2 hours, so mine is a round trip. It tends to concentrate the mind on ensuring you have all relevant parts before starting something tho. It was a shock to the system as I was only a couple of miles from Homebase etc previously. I think I would have been yelling at the supplier to courier them to me in your scenario lol. Need @Nickfromwales and @PeterW to ensure they know what parts might be needed and where they are likely to be sourced from otherwise they could be camped out here for weeks waiting for stuff to arrive
  12. The Mcdonalds is new. Used to be 30 miles for that too. Nothing hits home how far you are from civilisation when in the middle of a self build until you need the smallest thing really urgently and can’t spare the 2 hours it would take to get to a DIY shop and back. Amazon Prime is a lifesaver for me here.
  13. Be a bit of a trek! McDonald’s is 8 miles, KFC over 30. They have chickens next door though so no visitors will go hungry if we get desperate!
  14. Ooo look maybe we can use that Triple X for tequila shots!
  15. Was that Posh Spice?
  16. There's deffo nowt lurking behind the TS anywhere, either furry creatures or otherwise . I looked and there was a fire extinguisher, 2 bottles of that triple X stuff and shit loads of dust. No extra / missed components.
  17. The battered deep fried pizza stunned me when I first moved up here!
  18. Thought he was bringing voddy?
  19. There are 2 bottles of 'Triple X' shoved down the side of the TS. One is universal cleaner and the other is inhibitor. Useful or chuck in the bin?
  20. You could have one of the delicacies from the local chippy, as in deep fried Mars bars or pizza dipped in batter and deep fried!
  21. Bacon? Thought it was all lamb where you’re from? Anyway we have Highland Coos (yes even in the lowlands) and these (but you have to catch one first)
  22. It's all Scottish shortbread, and Tunnock's teacakes and caramel wafers up here
  23. Are they not the things that @Nickfromwales asked about on page 1? I haven't seen anything like that, and if they are not listed on the invoices I posted then I don't think they will be anywhere. The invoices are all at HMRC but here is the summary of invoices from the spready for anything heating or solar related. I posted invoices for the first 4 items and the rest are fairly self explanatory I think? Description Retailer Solar Thermal Collectors and fittings / collection kit Eco-nomical Underfloor Heating Wunda Group Water Tank and supplementary equipment DPS Ltd Electric Boiler 3 phase The Electric Heating Co Floor Clips Wunda Group Room Thermostats Heat Miser Shower Flow Sensor The Electric Heating Co Thermostats Thermsaver Heating pump Direct Heating Spares I can do a little video if helpful though.
