Hi Everyone, I want to join two EUR pallets together to create structure for my shed. I was thinking about using EUR pallets only for the base and corners for load distribution then some less bulky pallets in between. If I use smaller pallets then I need shorter bolts. EUR pallets have these OSB blocks sometimes wooden blocks that are 10x15cm so if I want to join 2 pallets horizontally then I need at least 22cm long bolts if vertically then 32cm. I will need lots of them. I reckon some lower grade. I think I will have to drill some pallet support blocks twice vertically and horizontally. Where can I get bolts at a reasonable price for that? Should I just order them of eBay? I have no experience with these consumables so I don't even know what is a cheap and rip off price for 25, 35cm long M10 bolts.

My latest idea and I think the easiest is to fit little doors on every other 2nd step and convert the space into 2 step high compartments. Since I convert these old stairs and each step relies on the other I have to ground or wall support the boards above and below the little doors. It could well be the compartment includes also the step above then 3 step compartments, doors every 3rd step. I won't do it to the very top but only halfway down because as you can see on the picture there is a space for the fridge behind the plasterboard from the kitchen side.

Hi All, I hope you are doing well. I have two questions as I am not entirely sure if I want or I am ready to engage in full bathroom renovation just yet. 1. Are there any easier not necessary cheaper alternatives to fit in on the bathroom walls or at least on the two walls with a bath tub in the corner. I don't want to rush it and buy a whole lot of tiles then realise I don't like them. I dread of tiles that will turn out too dark. I want the bathroom to remain bright but not white tiles. 2. Is tiling the whole bathroom necessary? Mine isn't that tiny 2.5m by 2.3m Just FYI I put waterproof laminate on the floor. I reckon the advantage of large tiles is that they sound proof the bathroom better. Happy Easter!

So to summirize my understanding is that I can increase the insulation but make sure I don't come too close to the breathable membrane. Leave a gap basically. This is the old picture since then I have put another 100mm Knauf on top of the pink.

In my case this is how it looks in the loft. The roof bends so I don't have access to the actual very corner and also was wondering if I should insulate sloping ceiling from the inside as I reckon this creates a thermal bridging.

I put these 3.5N blocks onto slabs then the pallets.

what would be a sufficient membrane in this case then? some tarpaulin?

can you elaborate about the membrane at the 'point of the triangle'? how is this done?

Does it have to be some reinforced antiweed membrane or the regular membrane. I reckon this one biodegrades after some years.

Hi All, What are your thoughts about roof tile vents? The roofers have installed 3 of those on the north side apparently to mitigate some extra humidity. Does it mean I should put some extra insulation? I think I have currently about 300mm. What about insulating the space under the breathable membrane under the roof? Best

it's Baxi Solo 15 HE - 15kW, the property is about 84sqm.

We talked about it once. I said that I prune it at some point but I didn't specify the scope of work as this was a conversation about everything. I could pretty much ignore it for another year as I have other priorities. My understanding is that you move in to a new place and you express interest in many things that concern the property and the boundary especially if there is a lot of work to be done however on the other hand for a neighbour it could well be an opportunity to use such new comer to solve problems that have been left unattended for years. If I was him I would cut the top bits myself or pay someone to do it not wait like 20 years for some able neighbour to take care of it. He said that once he hired a council team to shred the branches. When this property was owned by a housing association before I understand it's easier for neighbours to deal with HA than regular landlords and HA would do extra work at the time. Maybe he prefers the shade. I have to ask him.

this creates a dilemma for me because I would rather do it in stages than hire and do a whole lot, I mean a lot more but I would have to trim the hedge on the boundary first which would create 20+ piles like that. On the other hand you are right the electric is slower and keeps blocking. I should go after the hedge and then shred it. In the meantime pile all the stuff in the right location so I don't have to keep moving stuff around. I don't know how safe is the process of unblocking an electric one but I reckon if I have to do it like 100 times then the risk of losing a hand increases.

The hedge is on a boundary. Even if I cut the overgrown on my side I don't think it will make a difference to the neighbour. I am fine with the hedge. I know the neighbour is pruning it but only overgrown at his height, he didn't go after the bits higher up. I reckon he could himself. I asked in case there is some law / custom that obliges one side more than the other. As far as I see the hedge is on the boundary but overgrown on my side. Looking at the more recent roof repair over the part wall he didn't want to share the cost. I will trim it at my height but I won't be cutting the 2.5m+ ones. Maybe only the ones that are overhanging into my side. By the way there is no fence on either side of the hedge, it's just a thick hedge.
