Dan1983 Posted June 17 Author Posted June 17 Last of the RSJ’s going in then oak sleepers Wednesday Just got to decide what level the lights are going to be recessed in to the sleepers at
Dan1983 Posted June 17 Author Posted June 17 This part will be the steps up to the garden, think it’s 4 steps high
Dan1983 Posted Sunday at 09:17 Author Posted Sunday at 09:17 Oak sleepers going in after first set rejected even though they were AAA rated
Mr Punter Posted Sunday at 10:26 Posted Sunday at 10:26 Will you paint some bitumen or staple some DPM to the back of the sleepers before you backfill?
Dan1983 Posted Sunday at 17:21 Author Posted Sunday at 17:21 It’s having a DPM across the back of them Will drill out the sleepers for the lights then back fill I think
Dan1983 Posted yesterday at 17:31 Author Posted yesterday at 17:31 Sleepers now complete I volunteered to drill the 25mm holes for the lighting to save time, not the best of jobs and bad back in the morning! Also run all the wires between the DPM and the sleepers and added ducting to take the loom round the steps
Mr Punter Posted yesterday at 19:54 Posted yesterday at 19:54 Blimey what is the cost of that patio and sleeper retaining wall? Also, was it designed and built by others, or were you in charge? That is a lot of work and very well executed. 1
Dan1983 Posted 23 hours ago Author Posted 23 hours ago (edited) My friend is doing it as owns a ground work company He is mega fussy the same as me which is great! I sketched out what I wanted then we have just tweaked it along the way (he has sorted all materials apart from lighting) There is still a flower bed to form with oak around the stairs and main retaining wall then carry the sleepers down the far side of the house There is probably about 85m2 of limestone to lay (slabs are £38m2) Looking to bring it in around the 20-22k mark not including muck away (had 2 lorry’s so far!)
