eandg
Just wondering if anyone knows the going rate for bricklaying is (by 1000 bricks) in the west of Scotland at the minute - considering what our external skin will be and looking to compare options. Thanks!
ToughButterCup
Good luck @eandg. No idea of your labour costs, but if you can get labour in West Lancs, £1 per brick - two lads labouring on - and they don't work if it looks like rain. nod
I’m in the NW of England Going rate on the sites I work on seems to be around 385 per 1000 But the company’s are keeping them in work 52 weeks per year and covering wet time
eandg
Thanks both. First one suggests it's not viable, second that it might be. Has anyone any experience of brickies doing 'homers' for full new builds (and knowledge of whether warranty providers would accept that)?
Declan52
The warranty providers won't care who or when it was built. The only bits that matter are the how long and how much. If they are doing it in the evenings and weekends and their work is acceptable and you are happy with that method then all is good.

NW rates I see on social media groups are around £500/1000 & £14/m2 blockwork & that’s through a brickwork firm taking a cut.

Yep Brickies are in short supply round here many have gone cards in with holiday and exstra insentives for weekends This has had a knock on effect for the self employed With company’s guaranteeing a daily amount Rain or shine At moment you will have to pay a premium for a one off job
