nod
We have been getting quotes for blinds and internal shutters Some the quotes are eye watering I’ve installed sash windows throughout Which are nice but exspensive the first quote was more than we paid for the windows There doesn’t look much to fitting the shutters or blinds I guessing that a chunk of the price is for fitting I’ve looked online and there are quite a few supply only companies The blinds look the same At a fraction of the price Has anyone used these online suppliers
lizzie
I used 247blinds for some rentals they were fine. Just blinds not shutters.

Thanks Lizzie I was saying to Deborah we had blinds fitted more than ten years ago in three rentals I don’t think they were exspensive and they are going fine Unfortunately a small local company that is no more
Jeremy Harris
We used roman-blinds-direct, and they seem pretty good. The blackout lining we opted for in the bedrooms is excellent. They were dead easy to fit, just screw the spring loaded brackets in place then clip the blind directly to it. My only regret is not looking around for blinds with electric motors though, as I find it a bit fiddly to get at the beaded string to wind them up and down. Bitpipe
Rooflights are trickier as gravity will hinder rather than help. On our Velux integra windows we used their external motorised blinds (which can be retro fitted) for the high up windows and their standard internal blinds for the ones easy to reach. Thanks @Bitpipe. Unfortunately Velux didn't do the rooflight size I was after, so i've had to go bespoke. Got a good price on the rooflight from Sunsquare, including Sunguard Sn35/70 glass, but the quotes I've got so far on the blind are looking like almost double the cost of the actual rooflight! That's unfortunate - was one of our reasons for sticking to standard window sizes for the roof. Are you looking for internal or external shading?
