Too dry for a JCB?

JCB will go through pretty much any soil type. Issue is when they hit rock that the back actor on them doesn’t have the power. Switch to a narrow bucket and double dig is the answer.

You're overthinking it....?

 

You have no idea how good it is for me to be able to write that. Overthinking is good: the worry that attaches to it isn't.

Agree with this comment. Once you have made all the necessary arrangements (perhaps confirm the day or two before). Don't over think what could happen, I would devote your energy to a later stage of the project.

It’s nice to be able to actually drive my JCB on my land without it either sinking or turning the ground to resemble the Somme. Been digging today (hard clay ) and yes smaller bucket with teeth will dig all but rock.
