Automatic Drive Gates

We are planning oak double drive gates, the span will be 2.7M, does anyone have recommendations for gate opening kits, we have been looking here but would welcome other recommendations

I’ve a friend who instals for a living

He uses CAME auto kits 

great price and never has any call backs

Hubby used to fit automated gates when we lived down south. I think he tended to fit BFT and CAME.

 

You possibly already know but there was a ton of legislation introduced when 2 children were crushed to death by automated gates in separate incidents a few years ago. Whatever you buy should meet safety standards and the person who installs the automation should be ‘competent’ and fully understand all of the regulations. They are considered to be machinery and are governed by the machinery directive. They can be dangerous beasts if not installed and operating correctly.

A friend who does fits these like FAAC kit and Videx intercoms as they are reliable.  +1 to @newhome and the safety aspects.  If the gates are solid and tall they will offer a large resistance to wind.  Galv metal ones can be easier to install and maintain.
