Ceiling mount fan coil search…

We need a fan coil, in our bedroom.   It was always part of the plan, so we have ‘lecky and pipes laid ready, but I can’t find one.   I know that sounds dumb and maybe I am missing something obvious.

 

But I can’t find one.  So I need help.

 

The brief: a 2 pipe fan coil which can be hung from a ceiling.  Needs to be less than a meter wide.  

 

I identified the Myson iVector 2, which may have been perfect, but that’s not available, and they can’t even predict when it will be.  And I simply can’t find an alternative.  Help!

Cool Energy do them. Panasonic and Daikin maybe, pretty similar to the Myson iVector 2. Have a look at Orion Air sales also they do a range of them.

This unit would need to be able to run independently, so plan the controls well, and manage your expectations of efficiency and ‘short-cycling’ even better.

 

These things should have been ‘on the M&E menu’ at day dot tbh.

It was, and I identified the unit I intended to buy.  Just not available.  Sigh.  I’ll get there.

Respectfully, you need to include a contingent, when planning a home for life.

I know who is to blame.  Little, round, bald guy with a dodgy sense of humour.  He got lumbered with the labels of Principal Designer and Principal Contractor but his real talent was as Head of Global Operations for On Site Catering and Sweeping.

I have googled and googled fan coils, fan convectors, hydronic terminals, heat pump convectors, and many other combinations and not seen them. 
 

I've had a look at their website, and it appears exactly what we need.  I’ve had the same conversation repeatedly, and been met with confusion when I’ve tried to explain what we are trying to do.  These guys appear to have already got it.

Eek. I could in theory do 3x2 sets of ducts for ceiling recessed. Any recommendations for fan coils for that? Would that even work?

 

I did see megawave as the only other recessed ceiling in my travels.

Our concern with recessed ceiling units was that we didn’t want to build in the need for loft access for maintenance.  I’m creaky enough as it is let alone in 15 years time as I approach my 9th decade!

I’ve seen Megawave can be mounted on ceiling for their freestanding unit too - https://theheatpumps.co.uk/5kw-free-standing-fan-coil-unit-for-heating-cooling.html which will almost certainly be a lot cheaper than Java

Think the mega wave stuff is straight out of China with a new badge. Would do an image search and see what comes up.
