Jothetaxi Posted Tuesday at 08:53 Posted Tuesday at 08:53 I’ve put this post in this area, as I was unsure where else to put it. Builders installed weep holes above our doors in random positions and they look a right mess. We know they are required but it’s the random positioning that bothers us and it draws your eye. I’ve attached photos but they don’t really show the extent of it. is there a way of obscuring these? We know they can’t be sealed up.
Mr Punter Posted Tuesday at 13:25 Posted Tuesday at 13:25 If you are not in an exposed location you could have got away without these as the render would stop water getting through. You probably have weep vents every 450mm but some have been covered by render. You could have a dig about to find more or cover up any you don't like, but either way it is very difficult to make it match in with the render.
Russell griffiths Posted Tuesday at 16:01 Posted Tuesday at 16:01 Add more of them to even out the spacing.
Spinny Posted Tuesday at 20:30 Posted Tuesday at 20:30 Fix something else in place above the doors that disguises, draws the eye away from, or covers the weep holes (heaven forbid) - a canopy or brise soleil, a light or lights, a whispy climbing plant, trellis, a hook(s) for a patio sail, a hanging basket, a rod, an ornamental bird, a plaque etc 1
Jothetaxi Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Thanks for the replies. Much appreciated. We are considering adding holes in more symmetrical positions, then closing up the old ones, if someone like a magicman can make it look ok. Would the tray run along the top of the door opening?
