I have a need to connect either 32 or 40mm waste pipe to a 110mm soil pipe that I can't disconnect, so been looking at options.

The strap on connectors seem to depend on the rubber adapters. I'd rather have a more permanent seal, so looking for a solvent fitting.

Found these available in either size. Yay or Nay?

Can you get around the soil pipe?

Id go for one of these, that clips together at the back, and solvent weld the lot in then. 👍

You can buy these with solvent reducers. Just a pic of the fitting for an example ;)

If that's the case, I will do this as I can get round the pipe.

These are better than the push in ones imho, as once the band is locked and you’ve glued the face of the fitting to the soil pipe, it’s there for life.

You need to abrade the surface of the pipe, and clean it with some solvent cleaner (made by the same people that make the glue). You need pipe cement filler not glue to do the join.

Just use the Macalpine mechanical bossconn as I linked to above - all you need is a hole saw and then use the compression fitting, so no messing around with cements or glue, or solvent weld reducers, or having to wrap around the soil pipe. Takes a couple of minutes max and you don't have any worries about whether the connection has been properly sealed as quite often happens with the wrap boss. The advantage of the Macalpine is that you can even use then for the blow offs from UVCs and boilers whereas the regs guidelines state you should NOT use wrapped bosses for these, but mechanical ones only.

The 40mm version direct from Screwfix: https://www.screwfix.com/p/mcalpine-mechanical-pipe-boss-connector-black-40mm/55722

Simple and no mess

Looks like you have to be able to get a hand inside the pipe to attach it? If so, I can't use this 😞 in this instance.

No, fully installable from the outside as there's an expanding seal and a tightening too. Simple as -

BTW - With a strap boss you need access to both sides of the soil pipe.
