Home assistant uses the IP address and you can change anything you want from there, same as the Monitor app does. So fingers crossed. The phone app is useful to find the IP address, mine seems to have changed a few times, no idea why.

DHCP?

 

Either change it to a static IP in the settings (could cause trouble if you change internet routers) or go in your internet routers control panel and assign it a fixed IP there (DHCP will then always dish out the same address).

This situation is why I'm very dubious of SigEnergy. They seem to be market leading technology wise but they are very cloud dependant and I don't want to put money into a system that could go away/start costing more than expected/lose features.

My concern about SigEnergy. Ours has an insurance backed warranty whatever that’s worth in practice. 

 

It does still work without the cloud in a ‘safe’ mode. They are much bigger and better funded and are looking at an IPO. It is undeniably a slightly risky world PV/battery storage.

Their EV charger does use the cloud so the advice is put it into manual mode (plug and charge) just in case the cloud service gets switched off and you then can’t access it to change it.
