ruggers Posted Monday at 23:08 Posted Monday at 23:08 Which brick acid is best for cleaning up any mortar residue off brick faces. Ive seen a few advertised as brick and patio cleaners but I'm wondering if they're too weak and i require a proper acid to dilute down. My bricks are new and are light grey. I have a few area where the rain caught it before it fully set, whether thats efflorescence or not?
nod Posted Tuesday at 05:02 Posted Tuesday at 05:02 Your correct The patio cleaners are just a watered down version and often more expensive Sika brick cleaner is full strength 3-1 will clean most stains 1
Super_Paulie Posted Tuesday at 12:03 Posted Tuesday at 12:03 ive used this to clean my mixer and it works just fine. Link 1
SteamyTea Posted Tuesday at 15:30 Posted Tuesday at 15:30 Is brick cleaning acid now a notifiable chemical since that acid attack that blinded the local (to me) woman a few years back. I get a drain maintainer fluid, that is notifiable. So may need ID to purchase the good stuff. (Been playing with pH 13.5 alkalines today, which oddly is not notifiable) 1

Link Thanks, I'd looked at this one the other day. I'll order some after ive checked the merchanta proce. Just wanted to check i was getting the good stuff and not wasting my time. Definitely won't be using it for any crimes @SteamyTea, some people are just evil.

Ground off the majority, fill in the blanks and then a diluted brick acid over the lot. Came up like new. I did it on brick slips and that pulled a load of colour out of them though, you live and learn.
