Well it’s that time again Sign off next week Hoping the vat claim will be less long winded this time 

373k spent 420m2 

34.5 k vat claim 

 

We originally set a budget of 

300k for the two plots and 50k for the two acre field at the back of the plots 

350k spend on plot one 

Then material costs soared just after Covid 

We did intend doing far less ourselves 

But Covid changed all that

Have you posted details/drawings/photos of your build elsewhere? I'd be interested to see what you've managed to build for that money.

Thanks! Your build looks very similar to mine. We are also going for a doubled gabled front elevation with a mixture of brick, render and cladding:

Looks really good and well done with the cost, very impressed. I like that it is a bit unusual with the double gable. 

Hopefully the grandchildren won't damage it to much😁, I know mine would if given 1/2 a chance.

 

What flooring have you used downstairs?

Ours just under 90sqm was £11k for reference

Our children went to longridge High 

Our first build was in Fulwood Across from the Grasshoppers rugby ground 

We are now In Woodplumbton Ten minutes away

We genuinely intended downsizing 

But it’s difficult to justify the land and associated costs on a smaller house 

 

While we have done quite well with the cost m2 It would have been impossible to do the same on a house that’s half the size
