ToughButterCup
Now that the roof is on the piggery, and there's power in the building, its time to move my tools to their new home. I want ot make a set of sliding shelves, each holding a Bosch L-Boxx with its tool. Maximum weight - 25 kg The question is which sliding runner should I use for the shelves? The research I have done shows a wide range of price and complexity. I'm willing to bet you can tell me what to avoid.... And perhaps be willing to recommend one or two makes. Vijay
I was thinking about this today as I picked up a nice wooden A0 sized plan chest and wanted to put proper sliders on the drawers
Construction Channel
anything against Ikea? http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/storage-furniture/shelving-units-systems/bestå-drawer-runner-soft-closing-art-40348715/ + http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/childrens-ikea-products/children-3-7/childrens-storage-system/stuva-grundlig-drawer-without-front-white-art-70128689/ or you could have the push-open option
Fallingditch
In my (self assembled, by others) kitchen and utility room I have about 20 different drawers. All runners were specced as self-closing Blum. They are great. From what I have seen, they last well. (They also appear to have a 'lifetime warranty') If you are planning to live with these drawers for some time, I would definitely invest in Blum (or possibly Grass or Hettich). One supplier is Isaaclord.co.uk. Another is drawerboxes.co.uk. (I bought from elsewhere).
