Post and beam Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Our cold roof design is very 'open eaves' such that unless i do something substantial i think most of the local wildlife will come and live with us. What have you guys found to be the most effective barrier and where have you placed whatever it is you use please?
jayc89 Posted February 17 Posted February 17 We have a similar problem - when we re-roof, at some point, I plan on fitting something like these - https://www.screwfix.com/p/eaves-comb-fillers-20-pack/40157
Big Jimbo Posted February 17 Posted February 17 If you are in Hertfordshire and have Glis Glis, the above won't do. I would be looking at stainless steel woven mesh. With Glis Glis, the above won't do. They will be through that in seconds.

I looked at the suggestion above earlier today and thought that if its plastic it would not do the job. Stainless mesh is the way i think i will go having researched more this afternoon. Just need to find the best place to fix it inside the loft. 1

Redoctober Posted February 18 Posted February 18 @Post and beam We too have a cold roof and had a very similar issue just before Christmas - I purchased this item and touch wood it has solved our problems - It is very pliable and what I did was I rolled it up and "wedged" it between the sarking board and insulation within our loft space. It still allows for ventilation but stops any unwanted guests entering. https://renew-store.co.uk/products/200mm-bird-mesh-kit-1-roll-x-30m-black?variant=47686595019091&country=GB¤cy=GBP&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&srsltid=AfmBOoppwgXeEqjbpFoBT4kdziLXJWRo-lYXpB7x7j4Ahyq3uY_BNi2BsaY
