osprey Posted February 14 Posted February 14 (edited) Has anybody here used or had experience of Rawlington aluclad windows? They seem to have a reasonable product, a showroom in Gloucester, but I cannot find them on this forum. They seem to be one of the few suppliers that offer an installation service as well. Russell griffiths Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I looked at them then dismissed them, don’t remember why it was a couple of years ago.

I used Rawington for alu windows.
saveasteading Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Hijacking the post. Apologies. Wouldn't it be useful if members could publish the cost of their windows divided by the area? Somewhere I have a little black book that says that (at the time) windows cost £w/m2 for upvc or cheap timber windows, x for aluminium, y for timber, z for curtain walls. It was remarkably accurate for a first run though a feasibility costing and could be useful for new members on BH.

We bought from them in 2011, they supplied and installed. They were easy to deal with, and delivered bang on time. On the assumption they are the same blokes - a pair of Lithuanian brothers - then I would use them again without any worries.

(Sorry, an 'l' slipped into the body of my post, but not the title). Good to know they have been around for a while. Any need to call on them for support? Incidently, I note that their beading for the glass is internal, which means you don't have to remove the alu cladding to replace the glass. Rationel etc have external beading: I guess for the smoother internal look?

We have never needed support so I can't comment on their aftercare. 1
craig Posted February 19 Posted February 19 They are Gutmann designed windows, they're a decent product and I don't have a bad thing to say about Gutmann. 1
