Now it is getting dark reasonably early and I don't have lights yet it is noticably dark inside fairly early, I think by 7.30, but it does look like it will be a brighter day so that will help. We can then head to the Punch Bowl afterwards, it is about 1.5 miles away. I don't think they serve food on a Thursday evening. If 6.30 is too early for some we are close to the cricket club and would be easy to find, I can more details to anyone who might need it. We can all hold our smartphones up with the torch running just like all those aging rockers do at the end of the gig by the even more aging rock band. See, being a wrinkly means I’ve learned a thing or two. Shame that none of it is useful. See you at the cricket club. Do I need to be in ‘whites’?
zzPaulzz Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Urgh, sorry chaps. I’m not going to make either. Annoying too as I’m keen to see Jonny’s build.
JohnnyB Posted September 18 Posted September 18 I wouldn't make it either if it wasn't at mine, the plasterer didn't leave until nearly 6. You are welcome to come round another time and take a look if you want to @zzPaulzz, or anyone else.
Alan Ambrose Posted September 20 Author Posted September 20 Thanks @JohnnyB for taking the time to show us your build. The Hempcrete detail was particularly interesting. How nice to be next door to the cricket club

I would be interested to visit your build, as I'm sure others would be too, and I would like to see how @G and J is getting on. Edited September 20 by JohnnyB

If you happen to be Woodbridge way during office hours (we have time limits imposed by planning) call in, I’m there almost every day. Thank you for the tour. Really enjoyable evening. I had no idea how late it had got.
Alan Ambrose Posted September 23 Author Posted September 23 Yeah, happy for anyone to come along to mine - maybe along with a visit to @LSB who isn't very far away I think? Getting more interesting, but still probably a bit dull, oak frame started going up today which was a bit of fun: 3
zzPaulzz Posted September 23 Posted September 23 I’m sorry I missed you all. My build is going better now that I’ve brought in some proper carpenters to sort my cladding out. MBC’s air tightening team have been here a week now and the difference inside is amazing. 2

I'd like to see your your oak frame before it is too covered over, maybe I can make time for a trip to Woodbridge then head up the A12 to IP17 next week. 1 hour ago, zzPaulzz said: MBC’s air tightening team have been here a week now Wow, that sounds quite a while on one house, how many in the team? I don't have the front and back doors in their frames yet so still have a gale blowing through the house.
zzPaulzz Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Three, though one went home at the weekend. The others worked through. They did a lot of fiddly carpentry to get the base for their air tight inner roof membrane.

Gus Potter Posted September 24 Posted September 24 Great stuff folks, I live in Scotand but would be nice to have attended. Now, it's a small world, have heard reports that you are all a nice bunch!

Not as drafty as Alan’s place - see Gus, we aren’t nice, we take the mickey out of everything and everyone !

Aye, but feedback is that you are, under the bonnet, an ok bunch. Good humour often is based on a fair bit of slagging off, in fact major slagging off ... you seem old school and that floats my boat! xxx
