If we are giving a Papal style welcome, please may we use a telehandler to carry him in a chair - my back still aches from space work.

Thurs 8th maybe?

Can't do that one :( I'm at Goodwood doing a car show build up

Currently the 15th is totally blank in my diary.

My OCD doesn't like that so it would be good to put something in.

How does that suit- still in Woody I hope

@Gus Potter - as Buildhub royalty, I'm sure we would convene an appropriate celebration if you visited our conrner of the world. A little short of the Pope's funeral, but not by much :).

Ha! Save your money folks. I'm balding, a bit deaf, glasses.. long list of latent defects.

That said would still like to attend if possible, if not this time then maybe the next.

Fortunately I’m too young but I could drink pints of crème de menthe!

I’d remembered the joke, but I’d forgotten how funny that man is.  Well done for posting that.

We’ve completely converted to ‘build time’. Basically we are getting up so stupidly early for me to get to site on time that we now consider 21:30 as a late night.

So how about 19:00 at the Cherry Tree pub in Woodbridge.  It’s a school night so shouldn’t be too busy.  Our site is about 127.3 m walk from there so if anyone is interested we can go have a peek at some setting concrete. (Fingers crossed we get to pour some into our trenches by then!)

That works for me. I’ll be the one obsessively clutching a roll of plans like a drowning man.

I apologise for hijacking this thread but couldn't find a good forum to ask. Does anyone have recommendations for a scaffolding company in our area? I've been quoted over £9k for 10 weeks of scaffolding around my build which seems steep!

We had some work done on our roof, I think it was F&H, that is our house, not new build.
He charged to put it on, but then just left it until well after the builder finished rather than specific weeks.

I used http://www.bcpscaffolding.co.uk, based at Diss. Ben Carlie is the owner. They were easily the best priced of the three quotes I got. Mention my name if you like. I had his scaffolding up for more than a year.

He helped me find my roofers, and the flat roof specialist.

They did require some chasing to get them to commit to specific dates. I would be very careful about how you schedule work that revolves around scaffolding.

I used Structure Scaffolding, based at Mendelsham.  The guys working on the house at the moment are complaining about a few things but he was recommended by the chippie and a couple of other people and the price was the best I got, about a third of what you've been quoted, but that does depend on how involved your job is as £9k is a whole lot more than any of the quotes I've had so I assume your project is more complex.  He has also been good on timings, I gave him some warning of rough dates and kept him informed occasionally and he turned up when I needed on the two parts I've needed and any problems were sorted quickly.
