What screws fof this cover?

What a mess I found in the attic, of electricians and plumbers offcuts, empty boxes and reels, and insulation not replaced.

 

Then I saw the cover for this sitting on the insulation.

Looking up I saw that the cover had never been fitted. More than somewhat dangerous.There are no screws.

 

To save me going up with my boxes of mixed, handy screws, are these going to be standard sizes in thread and length?

If they don't have threaded inserts in the base - pretty much any damn self tapper will resolve that!!!

Yes if no metal threaded inserts exist then self Tappers into the plastic will do, last resort is drill right through and a couple of thin wood screws into the timber behind .

Depends how old, probably M3.5 if recent or 4BA if old, BA threads used to be the standard for electrical things a long time ago.

I still have a bag of brass 4BA screws, previously used in all sorts of electrical stuff.

Thanks all. I will rummage through the tins and choose anything that looks right but also take up some wood screws.

Or sticky tape round the box and timber tie.

 

It struck me as a BH thing that I'm asking for advice on 2p worth of screws while discussing someone's piling project to save tens of thousands.

Look after the pennies, the pounds look after themselves.

 

More to spend on trinkets and froth later.

Reminds me of my apprentice, we went metric during that time.

Most of the machine tools were imperial though.
