flanagaj Posted Monday at 21:03 Share Posted Monday at 21:03 (edited) I am trying to source the parts to install a temporary water supply on site. Pipe is 32mm MDPE, and I need to put a double check valve in, but I balked at the cost of an MDPE one, and was thinking of going MDPE to brass dcv and then back to MDPE, before having a 90 degree elbow and tap. So far, I've only found https://www.pipestock.com/double-check-valve-brass-threaded https://www.pipestock.com/mdpe-male-adaptor And wasn't sure whether a bspp male works with a bsp female and you simply don't need to use PTFE? Conor Posted Monday at 21:12 Share Posted Monday at 21:12 Reduce to 25mm MDPE. You can then fit a 25mm tap. You don't need 32mm for a site supply. Do you need a double check valve? Surely if this is a new connection you'll have a modern meter box with integrated non return valve?

Nick Laslett Posted Monday at 21:47 Share Posted Monday at 21:47 (edited) @flanagaj, my standpipe was the first step in my plumbing journey. This is what I ordered to satisfy the Anglian Waters stand pipe requirement Polyfast 32mm to 25mm Reducer https://www.bes.co.uk/32-mm-x-25-mm-polyfast-mdpe-reducing-coupling-compression-9859/ Brass Stop Cock - 25mm MDPE to 15mm https://www.bes.co.uk/brass-stop-cock-mdpe-x-copper-25mm-x-15mm-10484/ JG Speedfit Tee https://www.bes.co.uk/jg-speedfit-push-fit-tee-15mm-7080/ Brass drain cock 15mm https://www.bes.co.uk/drain-cock-type-a-15mm-brass-21822/ Brass Double Check valve 15mm https://www.bes.co.uk/double-check-valve-non-return-15mm-dzr-8151/ 90° tape connector elbow https://www.bes.co.uk/1-2in-bsp-x-15-mm-bent-tap-connector-jg-speedfit-push-fit-7090/ Brass Bib Tap 15mm https://www.bes.co.uk/hose-union-bib-tap-1-2in-9317/ I also had to get tools, a piece of 15mm barrier pipe, piece of 25mm MDPE pipe, pipe inserts for 15mm, 32mm and 25mm. There is a very good thread on here already, which I based my purchases on, I will try to find it. *Edit here they are: Edited Monday at 21:53 by Nick Laslett

Do you really need it for any domestic property unless your distance from mains to stop cock is about a mile or two.

And have a BIG cylinder. Have a suitably rated drainage system And it doesn't comply with building regs.

I timed her showers with flow restrictor and without and it was a tiny reduction in water usage but it did increase the time in the shower by 50% and as I have to wait for her to finish in the shower before I can get in there I decided life was too damn short and I'd look for water savings elsewhere. flanagaj Posted Monday at 22:38 Author Share Posted Monday at 22:38 It was a joke. Good point regarding the 32mm, but that part is done now, and I don't want to go back to Southern Water and get it changed.
