Press fitting burrs

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

Doing a diy heating install for radiator pipes which are gonna be dormant for ages so didn’t really want to leave flux in them for months.

Bought a manual press tool and it’s leaving big burrs & slight deformations.

Is this normal? Don’t want to do the whole lot and cry when it comes to testing.

Have you got the correct fittings and jaw combo? Those connections look terrible, I wouldn't want them anywhere near an installation. Maybe better to hire a press fit kit, or even buy and then sell on? £1500 quid now is cheap compared to potentially fixing failed fittings later on down the road.

It’s apparently for M Press fittings, and came with a calibration cert that could have been made in MS Word..

They feel solid enough, wouldn’t be bothered if the fittings weren’t so pricy.
