Being short can be a big problem, so it is always rounded up. That is a small proportion of waste in an industrial floor slab, or a bridge abutment, but significant in a domestic pour. The typical waste is therefore about 1/4 m3 per 'pour'. Dumped somewhere on site x how many projects every day?

They wanted to do mine a week earlier than planned because they’d gone to a job that wasn’t ready. Customer had forgotten to tell them! So they turned up at mine unannounced to see if I could take it. We tried really hard to accommodate them as it was all going to be dumped otherwise apparently but we just couldn’t get it ready for them.
