GrantMcscott Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 Hi Looking for a seemless finish around fire looking for advise on how to finish as concered if we tape the corners that the Knauf Fill and Finish will just crack and fall off and the tape has paper in it. One image is what it looks like now and the other is what we want

Canski Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 I did my last one in metal plate. I think it’s called checka plate or something. Insulated behind the plate and the top was at an angle feeding the heat back into the room.

Alan Ambrose Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 There's some high temperature cement / mastic stuff used for sealing joints in flue pipes etc. A small amount of that maybe? Or else maybe get stainless cut and bent to fit - with or without powder coat to your taste. Slate hearth - but then the fire should probably sit on it? 1
