PaulD
Anyone know of a "stairbox type" company that can supply 1500mm wide straight staircase, to replace temporary set in photo. Will have carpet so doesn't need to be high quality wood. Thought about concrete but not really sure where to start ... just trying to avoid the six figure sum associated with a bespoke set of stairs. (2860mm floor to floor height)
Thorfun
can your carpenter make a set for you? but if you wanted concrete then isn't it just a case of making the formwork and then pouring the concrete probably with some reinforcement? Bonner
Have you called these companies? They might not have 1500 width in their standard stair builders but should be able to customise for you. I used TK Stairs, nothing of that size but they seem quite adaptable.
Conor
We used stairplan, seem midway between stairbox and a fully handmade carpenter job. All very positive, even though they couldn't deliver to NI and I had to travel over in a hire van to collect.

No because they are wary. A 1500 tread width increases all the potential forces significantly.. you are in the region of a commercial stair. An SE will look at realistic and probable loading. If you look on the internet at family photos you often see groups of people gathering on the stair at xmas time say... that is a realistic and probable loading. That said the cost to design for this should not be an arm and a leg.. but BC will query if you try it on with the "stairbox" etc
