Dishwasher, distance from sink.

Hello.

I'm worried that the distance my dishwasher will be from my undersink plumbing might cause issues. 

I could add an extra U bend to be closer but this would be behind the dishwasher (not integrated) 

What do you think?

you can extend drain hoses, and buy longer water hoses if necessary.

The discharge from the machine is pumped, as long as you're not going uphill above the unit, distance isn't an issue. Our machine came with a 2m hose and I cut it down.

The pump will have to work harder. They are only tiny. I wouldn't go further than 2 meters of hose.

I would be more worried about, the dishes being rinsed before they go in the dishwasher, then leaving a trail of water between the sink and dishwasher.

Thank you everyone. Sounds like I can stop worrying about that now, and get on with installing kitchen plumbing. 

 

@JohnMo in 20 yrs of dishwasher use we've never rinsed anything before it goes in, just stack it well and it comes out clean.

Don't rinse. Waste of water, the machines do that for you. Just scrape.

The rinse or just scrape might depend on how often the dishwasher goes on.  Ours goes on most nights economy 7 so actually about 3 in the morning but can miss a night sometimes. Also depends on pets helping to clean plates, always rinse after the dog. 
Husbands rule was no pets feeding from our scraps at the table 3 months that lasted, he is the biggest feeder of us all.
