If I ran a builders merchants , I would forbid drivers lifting onto scaffolding. The consequences could be serious. You'd better ask rather than depend on it.
Mr Punter
Regarding the points raised as to whether a "ticket" is required to operate telehandlers, excavators and other site equipment, the answer is that you need to be suitably trained and competent. A "ticket" is one of the ways of establishing this, but far from the only one. If an accident happens and HSE find that the operator does not know what they are doing it can be bad news all round. saveasteading
As I have recorded here before, we once hired a ticketed operator to offload 3 lorries of steel. We sent him home at 10.00 as he had no inherent skill....just a ticket. Our jcb driver took over and instinctively did well. If there had been an accident, who knows how hse would have viewed it. Probably pragmatically.
Blooda
We used local farmer with telehandler, £40 per hour. No need to hire, did not have the machine in the way, hired telehandlers are very nickable.

Almost as if someone in the hire company was involved. £80K insurance claim Apparently they are dismantled over- ight and in Africa 3 days later. We had one taken from Gloucester Road Tube station, asked security for truck reg number etc. as he had opened the gates. Oh truck was empty when he arrived so we didn’t book him in. Hmmm, but he left with a pretty new tele handler! We were told we need to book deliveries in, not out so no idea gov.
