Door lining fixing into aircrete blocks

I'm in the process of blocking up my internal walls with Durox aircrete blocks, so i got to researching about screwing in the door linings and read lots of horrors stories about the blocks splitting.

So I was thinking would it be feasible to substitute some of the aircrete blocks for something a bit stronger say a whole block or half a block on every third course.

If so what blocks would be most suitable, which will take a concrete screw or plug and screw without the fear of splitting.

You could go the old fashioned route and bed some slivers of timber at the reveals to provide a fixing point. Might be best to go with marine ply if you’ve any off cuts around. From my time in demolition,having come across this scenario countless times,I don’t recall ever seeing them in a rotten state (unlike timber lintols on external walls or joist ends bedded into a solid wall.)

Don't try to screw in in one go, in a turn, back 1/2 a turn. Work great.
