SteamyTea Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 Now I know it is nice and sunny, and we have the longest hours of daylight this week, but what struck me as odd is how little nuclear generation is currently happening. It may be scheduled maintenance, but I would have thought that we could be increasing it and using less natural gas. Both wind and solar are generation more than 50% more than nuclear at the moment (16:10 19/06/2023), gas is less than the two combined by about 10%.
ToughButterCup Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 You tryin' to put us down @SteamyTea? Just because we get around? [...] This is our generation baby ...... An' I'm NOT sorry. 2
Temp Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 Status of EDF nuclear here.. https://www.edfenergy.com/energy/power-station/daily-statuses 1

ProDave Posted June 20, 2023 Posted June 20, 2023 We have a shortage of nuclear generation due to so many old plants reached end of life and we have been too slow to replace them. France I believe is in a similar position. 1
