revelation
We had initially intended to go for natural stone. But have now decided to go for porcelain tiles. However, we have already had the 100mm MOT down with no fabric. Is there any major issues that could occur? The paved area will only have foot traffic. revelation
Would putting the fabric over the MOT before the mortar mix help?

jfb
Well putting a fabric over the mot before laying will be more than pointless - actively negative. mortar needs something to bind to.

You’ve got 100mm of compacted MOT, then a mortar bed then tiles. What purpose do you think a fabric layer will provide. Google laying a patio and you won’t see a fabric layer anywhere.
