jayc89 Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 We have a fairly small utility room, approx 2.4m x 2.4m. No natural light, so we'll have the lights on whenever we're in there. I'm thinking quite simple, 4x LED downlights. Should I just set them out as 2 banks of 2, evenly, or is there benefit to have them offset over worktops?
ProDave Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Lights above a worktop I set 600mm from the wall, in other words in line with the edge of the worktop so they may not be exactly "square". Any further out to get the spacing to look better risks you working in your own shaddow. 1

TonyT Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Personally I would have them closer than 600mm, for the reasons ProDave advises I’m more a 500mm in from the edge for shadowing
Temp Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 We replaced a big flourescent with the 120cm version of one of these in our utility room. Plenty bright enough for us. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07WMMLJFZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
