karl293 Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 Hi all please can you help me, I am laying a concrete floor in outhouse 40m2 drawing show hardcore, dmp, slab, insulation then mesh then screed. Most people seem to to hardcore, sand blind, dpm insulation another dpm and then slab, screed which I believe could suit me better. Which I your option is better and what are the advantages off each, I will be fitted piped overflow heating on Flo max screed boards Thanks
Dave Jones Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 you dont want the insulation under the slab unless its structural. hardcore, sand blind, DPM, conc. then insulation, ufh and screed.
jayc89 Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 In part of our house we have hardcore, sand, DPM, Conc, PIR, membrane, screed. For the extension I plan on; hardcore, sand, EPS, DPM, conc + mesh. Which will allow me to avoid paying extra for any screed.
JohnMo Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 Follow what your structural engineering drawings show, don't make it up as go along. If you don't have structural drawings get them and then ask the structural engineer why he has specified what he has. 3 hours ago, karl293 said: Most people Who are most people, mine is nothing like you suggest, but exactly as your drawings show.
Dave Jones Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 you dont need an SE to spec a floor as long as its standard building control compliant.
