ProDave
This is one of the multi foil thin "insulation" products. I don't think you will find anyone here that recommends them. They seem to work by reflecting radiant heat, and are not necessarilly a true insulator in the normal sense. If you are thinking you can insulate your house with a thin layer of this sort of stuff instead of thick layers of normal insulation, you are going to be very disappointed indeed. A_L
based on the BBA cert http://www.radflek.com/downloads/BBACertificate.pdf with a 25mm void on one side it is about the same thermal resistance as 11mm of PUR for ceilings, 17mm for walls and 20mm for floors
Alexphd1
exactly what i was thinking, the sales guy's engineer was using this stuff with 280mm of spray for 0.1u. I cant see why we dont just spray thicker depth and miss this stuff out.

At least the manufacturer of this foil isn't trying to palm it off as something it isn't . They clearly state the use of it in conjunction to an already insulated surface, or stand alone, so folk can decide for themselves. Would this not also form a vapour barrier, thus killing two birds with one stone ?
