WWilts
Plot being split in two. Shared access, shared initial part of driveway (unavoidable). Not selling either just yet. Need an experienced professional to advise on exactly how to allocate the land to minimise the risk of future disputes. Which kind of professional? Solicitor? Surveyor? Other? Who will have seen it all before and be able to advise accordingly?

saveasteading
Yes, except perhaps draw the plots more exactly than the land registry does. The red line is very approximate. You can add dimensions. Or bang in some marker posts now and record them as the future boundary.

Often Commercial property solicitors are better suited on land.
twice round the block
Depends on how thick your nib is on your red marker pen. Make sure land registry and your solicitor have got the boundary in the correct place. You will also need to take tax advice on the other plot.
