health mechanic
Are noggins needed where chipboard meets another chipboard on subfloor. Please see photo. I was thinking if close to a noggin probably not but if sat near middle should put one. If so, would there be issue fitting now, as if apply souda bond (as used) and nailed from below is risk of lifting in that weak point? JamesP
What is the thickness of the boards and width between the joists, I used 22mm Caberdek at 400 centres and noggins not necessary. Glued and screwed.
nod
As above 22 mil at 600 or 400 Aslong as glued arnt needed Just where studs land parallel to joists
health mechanic
22 mil at 400 joist spacing. Is it overkill to do so....it seem the likes of Rob clevitt etc. And other builder youtubers seem to insist, can see the sense with reducing flex in this area. Additional joins have not been staggered, but several runs where joins are in line.
PeterW
If it’s T&G and glued then it’s not going to bend any more than the rest of the board. Just carry on - the Yuuchoob experts really do have some weird ideas about what materials can and can’t do.

The majority of new builds are 600 spacing = 22 mil If you decide to go 400 centres you can use 22 or 18 mil Both are fine I’m with Peter A lot of the you tube stuff doesn’t make any sense 5 hours ago, health mechanic said:
ProDave
The trouble with penny pinching and going for 18mm if you have 400mm joists is where you meet the stairs, where every set I have seen the nose is 22mm thick.
