BadgerBadger
I have a slight issue where part of my substructure coursing heights are slightly out. I can correct it by laying the first course on a 40mm mortar bed, is this too thick? I would prefer to correct it in the first course, as it's getting close to being visible above ground, so just wondering what my alternatives might be? MikeGrahamT21
Id say 40mm is too much personally. How about some kind of detail before you start above DPC? Maybe slate? Terracotta? Not entirely sure what would be suitable from a compressive strength POV.
Onoff
Cast a concrete ring beam, 40mm high?
Mr Punter
Slate is pretty good. For 40mm you may need 2 layers but probably 1 will work.
Canski
Brick on edge = 112 mm normal brick course 75 mm there’s 37 mm just bed up the BOE 3 mm and you’re there or use a split block if it suits.
Radian
Concrete coursing slips are 40mm if that helps?
