Ambaz79 Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 We have now completed the roof and are looking for the best ways to insulate the roof to meet building regs. Roof is approxitmatly 250 Sqm and we have stairs going up to the loft and will be using it for storage and maybe a Cinema Room at some point in the future. I have attahed some pictures and a video before the roof was tiled and completed. I also have 31 Solar panels inset on the roof onto the South, East and West side. Looking for the most cost effective way of doing this. Thanks for your help in Advance 1807495119_WhatsAppVideo2022-11-15at12_11_59.mp4
Radian Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 How deep are the rafters? Looks like they may be a little bigger than 175mm.

Buzz Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 Ok ,Looks like you won't be able to full fill between the rafters as will need to leave a 50mm gap between the insulation and the roof . Which leaves you with 170mm , the most cost effective way IMHO will be to add 170mm of fluffy stuff between the rafters and then add pir board to the underside .
Chanmenie Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 Put 150 or 170mm PIR between rafters then 50mm underneath followed by plasterboard
