House without completion cert,what is legality of living in the house. Can house be viewed as marital home??

As above, unfortunately  I am in this position following an accident involving  brain injury.

It has been a long time but  this was always a good source of reliable info. I am taking legal advice but interested to hear opinions too. 

(Fire doors not fitted with closers , not all wall PB, exposed pipe work and wiring, stairs and handrails are of  temp construction, cladding unfinished on some elevations etc etc. has kitchen and bathrooom , bed rooms.)

There’s nothing to stop you living in the house without a completion certificate 

We lived in ours for five months before sign off Home insurance also ok

In England I don't think fire doors need closers. Except perhaps between garage and house?

 

We got completion with missing wall lights and exposed wires. Just tape up the ends.

check insurance, wont be able to use normal buildings and contents without a completion cert.

I lived in a house for 11 years before I got it signed off 🤐. Only had 2 things outstanding from 1st final inspection and only got around to doing those when I sold the house in 2018 😁. With hindsight wouldn't have much chance of making a claim on the buildings insurance 🥵
