Bedrock

Hi, I am having trouble removing some bedrock.

the rock is in layers

some comes out easily in big pieces

some disintegrates into small chips and some layers are solid and very difficult and slow to remove, this is the layer I am having a problem with

I am using an excavator with a breaker / pecker

any advice on how I can make this easier or is it just a case of perseverance ?

Answers really depend on the type of rock and what size machine you are using.

If a digger is struggling It’s not man enough for the job 

Hiring the next size up will make a massive difference
