Expensive or not?

M&Ds bungalow. They had the upstairs dormer roof redone a while back but the Artexed ceiling inside had some old leak damage around the chimney stack that goes up through it. Brother has had a guy in who's quoted to remove the coving, board straight over the existing ceiling, re cove and paint. Area to be boarded is 2.3 X 6.9m. He's quoted £1750.

 

Biggest issue I can see is you won't get 8'x4' sheets up the stairs and into the room. 

 

 

 

We have of course to clear everything out.

 

Does that seem reasonable?

Can’t you just get the artex skimmed ?

I’ve had artex skimmed in the past . Can’t believe we used to ‘ like ‘ it ….

Be cheaper @Onoff ; as long as you don’t do it
