GandyP
I had a problem with Hep2O pipe inserts remaining in the fitting even when demounting the pipe using the Hep2O tool. Some times I have re inserted the Hep2O and got lucky. When all else fails I use a piece of old grey Wavin Polypipe that I keep in my garage ( Yes I am a hoarder) and this always seems to do the trick. Polypipe is softer than Hep2O pipe and the insert shark teeth sink easily into the internal bore of Polypipe. Before I push Hep2O inserts into the pipe I use a small screwdriver to lift the teeth up a bit more so they are more likely to catch the internal bore.

Russell griffiths
I have had this, I normally de mount both sides and chuck the fitting, I’m not risking catching the rubber o ring to save a £2 fitting.
Pocster
Experienced this also . Usually get pliers and bust / pull the sleeve out the fitting . If I’m not in the mood to fanny around i throw the fitting . Edited August 27, 2022 by pocster
dpmiller
yep, had this too. Shame, as some other brands can be unscrewed to make removal easier   /ducks
GandyP
A clarification of my inital post. I use a piece of 22mm polypipe and push it on to the stuck insert then recover the insert without damaging the fitting O-ring. It also pays to lift the barbs on the stuck insert prior to removing it. Saves the Fitting,Fuel and a visit to the plumbers merchant.
