Arnold9801
I have 50 8x4 insulated plasterboards to fit on a new builds concrete block internal wall. Which adhesive is recommended and is it ok to fit just two mechanical fixings to each board (one tip and bottom in the middle)? Many thanks. Marvin
Drywall adhesive is usually used. I hope mechanical fixings are not required because I have never used them for the purpose of fixing the boards on a wall. I usually cut the board to size after first fix services, slap the adhesive on the wall, squeeze the board on the dabs of adhesive and prop up using wedges on the floor. I usually use a spirit level to tap the board flat and vertical. Good luck M
Jenki
There is a Building regulations requirement for insulated plasterboard to be mechanically fixed, this is to prevent the boards from becoming detached from the walls in a fire. I've read of firemen being trapped. not sure of the regulation but this is one of the products to use; https://www.twistfix.co.uk/insulation-fixing-anchors-zp?uilang&povList=3215&gclid=Cj0KCQjwof6WBhD4ARIsAOi65ahOQRSASTVja7vFFopdtpOgn4eYADz8P4nsnvRt0xGuSIJIfH2npDcaAgokEALw_wcB EDIT: Seem to remember two fixing at the top of a board. not required at the bottom. ? markc
Not a fireman but seen too many insulated plasterboard walls peel away. My mother in law had a wall insulated this way and within weeks the adhesive failed and the whole wall bellowed when the door was opened and closed. I had to mechanically fix at top, middle and then through skirting (they had glued to plasterboard so it moved with the wall)

Arnold9801 A good tip is to read what the manufacturer of the product recommends first of all.
