Nickfromwales Posted July 22, 2022 Posted July 22, 2022 Hi all. I'm trying to source 20mm Compacfoam ( or an equivalent product ) to be used for the installation of a 5m all glass slider. Need to create a thermal break at the threshold, as well as vertically up both sides of the slider for 5.4m rising ( long story, picking up a not-so-ideal-install off A.N.Other.... ). Deepest section would be 150mm - 180mm so looking ideally at buying an 8x4 sheet s cut into the sizes I need. The Green Build Store only sell Twix sized pieces so am looking at other options if anyone can help? TIA.

Nickfromwales Posted July 22, 2022 Author Posted July 22, 2022 I’ll get on the phone Monday. Hopefully ex-stock and I can get it quickly. Thanks.
Dan F Posted July 22, 2022 Posted July 22, 2022 Number of alternative options, aside from the Partel product. - https://www.ecologicalbuildingsystems.com/product/phonotherm-200 - https://www.phstore.co.uk/foamglas-perinsul-hl - https://www.cfsfixings.com/products/purenit - https://www.greenbuildingstore.co.uk/product/compacfoam-200/ We used perinsul foamglass blocks for some sliders and then used purenit (recommended by @craig) elsewhere. The purenit I think was available in a lot of different thicknesses and came in a 2.4x1.2m sheet which was easy to cut down, so might be worth looking at. 2
Nickfromwales Posted July 23, 2022 Author Posted July 23, 2022 Ah, yes. Forgot about our secret in-house window-weapon. Thanks, much appreciated.
markharro Posted October 21, 2022 Posted October 21, 2022 I am being quoted £1000 for Compacfoam 200 for our passive slab by the installer - quantities in the attached image. Can anyone advise whether its likely I would make much saving on the price by sourcing from GBS myself? Or would one of these other products be cheaper and the same spec? thanks
JohnMo Posted October 21, 2022 Posted October 21, 2022 When I bought my compacfoam, I bought from GBS, was cheapest at the time.
